DAY 01: ARRIVAL WINDHOEK – SOSSUSLVEI
  • Upon arrival at Windhoek International Airport, pick up your rental vehicle from the Airport (Morning Arrival flight before or at 1300 HRS is recommended)
  • Drive to your accommodation in Sossusvlei
    Sossusvlei is a stunning, remote location in the Namib Desert of Namibia. It’s renowned for its dramatic landscapes, featuring some of the world’s tallest sand dunes, which can reach heights of over 300 meters (about 1,000 feet). The name “Sossusvlei” translates to “dead-end marsh,” reflecting the area’s nature as a salt and clay pan surrounded by towering dunes. One of the most photographed dunes in the world, known for its striking orange color and steep climb that offers panoramic views of the desert. Sossusvlei is also part of the Namib-Naukluft National Park, which is one of the largest conservation areas in Africa. The best time to visit is generally early morning or late afternoon, when the light creates striking contrasts and shadows across the dunes.

Dinner

  • Breakfast at the Lodge.
  • Proceed for the Sossusvlei Excursion. An early start from the Lodge to enter the Namib-Naukluft Park at sunrise, while the temperature is still mild and when the dune contrasts are at their best. You will travel in one of our all-terrain URI Game viewer vehicles, custom-built in Namibia for the Lodge, with your own specially trained guide who will share all his knowledge of the area, animals, plant life and much more with you. Regular stops are made on the spectacular ±60 kilometre drive through the dune corridor down to the Vlei to gain information or take in the vistas. At Dune 45, we make a stop to view the the world’s most photographed dune. Further along, a gradual 2,6 kilometer round-trip guided walk up to Dead Vlei is a must for the healthy visitors. The more energetic have the opportunity to climb to the upper ridge of Big Daddy Dune, one of the highest dunes in this area!

    Swakopmund Namibia is situated amidst dunes and desert close to the mouth of Swakop River. It is one of the famous tourist attractions in Namibia along the African road. Swakopmund city of Namibia is the capital of the Erongo administrative district and has 42,000 inhabitants and covers 193 square kilometres. Showcasing German colonial architecture, the destination of Swakopmund is a beach resort which was founded in 1892 as the main harbour for German South-West Africa. The city is even known as the adventure capital that opens up the gate for an exotic vacation in Namibia. From marvellous buildings to astounding town promenade, Swakopmund tour has everything for those who are looking for a comfortable and memorable stay.

  • Proceed for Seal & Dolphin Cruise in Swakopmund
  • Later Proceed for Sandwich Harbour 4 x 4 Scenic Excursion. We will drive right to the Sandwich Harbour Lagoon along the beach, one of Southern Africa’s richest and unique wetlands and one of five RAMSAR sites (Ramsar site no. 743) in Namibia. Sandwich Harbour boasts two distinct wetlands and associated mudflats. One is aquifer-fed and supports typical emergent vegetation, but is slowly disappearing due to natural causes. The second, under tidal influence, consists of mudflats and raised shingle bars. Wedged between the sea and the Namib Dunes, it is one of Namibia’s most important coastal wetlands, supporting eight endangered species among the large numbers of wading birds. Several archaeological sites dating back 1,000 years exist within the site.

    Damaraland, located in northwestern Namibia, is a region of breathtaking, rugged beauty and rich cultural heritage. Known for its dramatic landscapes, it features towering granite mountains, vast open plains, and ancient riverbeds. The region is home to unique attractions such as Twyfelfontein, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with one of the largest collections of ancient rock engravings in Africa. Visitors can also explore the striking Burnt Mountain and Organ Pipes, fascinating geological formations.

    • Later, set out on an exciting Ephemeral (Dry) River Drive with our knowledgeable guide, exploring the unique landscapes and wildlife of the area.

  • Proceed for the Rock Engraving Tour in Damaraland. This usually departs at 15h00 and will last for +/- 2 hours taking in the famous UNESCO World Heritage Site of Twyfelfontein to explore the rock engravings, along with seeing Burnt Mountain and the Organ Pipes.

    Etosha National Park, one of Africa’s premier wildlife destinations, is a vast expanse in northern Namibia, covering over 22,000 square kilometers. Its centerpiece is the Etosha Pan, a massive salt flat that shimmers under the Namibian sun, transforming into a shallow lake during the rainy season and attracting thousands of flamingos and other waterbirds. The park is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo), as well as cheetahs, giraffes, and a variety of antelope species.

  • The above cost is valid for minimum 2 people traveling together.

  • There will be an additional surcharge for airport transfers between 7PM to 7AM, therefore please book your international flights & domestic flights accordingly or consult us before booking them.
  • We shall not be responsible in case the guests will get stopped at the immigration for interrogation.
  • In case there is a delay or cancellation in arrival of your International flight, Africa Incoming shall not be responsible for any loss in regards to any missed tours or no show in the hotel (as both will be non-refundable)
  • Upon booking a deposit of 50% of the total Land Package cost & 100% for the local flights cost (if booked through us) is immediately payable to us. Final payment is due no less than 30 days prior to arrival.
  • Full payment is due immediately for all bookings made less than 30 Days prior to arrival.
  • Africa Incoming accept EFT transfers, Credit Cards Payment or cash deposited into one of our bank accounts, subject to the condition that such payment has been confirmed as received by ourselves.
  • All Bank charges to be borne by the Payee.
  • A bank service fee of 1% will be applicable on Bank transfers, 3.5% will be applicable on all VISA/MASTERCARD Credit card payments, 5% will be applicable on all AMEX Credit card payments.
  • Failure to remit final payment on the due date will result in cancellation of reservations, forfeiture of deposits and will result in cancellation fees.
  • In some proposals, where the rates are given in a currency other than the local currency of a particular country, it will be subject to change in case of substantial variation of the exchange rate. This shall be considered at the time of every payment.

The following are obligatory requirements without which the guests will not be allowed to have a self-drive rental car:

    • The vehicle provided in the quote may be substituted with a similar type by the supplier, subject to availability and in accordance with the self-drive company’s terms and conditions.
    • A driver must be over the age of 20 and have been in possession of an unendorsed driving license for a minimum of 2 years (National or International) written in English with a visible photograph, should be furnished in original.
    • A valid credit card (must be on a lead drivers name), of which an imprint will be taken and an amount put on hold for extras/refueling/incidentals.
    • Whilst conducting your self-drive itinerary, there are many factors beyond our control. Africa Incoming will therefore not accept any liability, responsibility or claim for compensation, for any incident or accident involving the guests, vehicle and/or any third party.
