Created in 1974, Katavi National Park is situated in the Katavi Region in southwestern Tanzania. It is located north of the ‘Rukwa Rift’, an extension of the Western Rift Valley. - On arrival at Airstrip, you will be transferred to your lodge by lodge vehicle on sharing basis.

Katavi National Park is one of the most pristine and rugged nature reserves in Tanzania. The enormous grass landscape with thousands of buffalo and antelopes are a true highlight. Day 05 : Katavi National Park – Mahale

Set among the spectacular, forested slopes of the Mahale Mountains, the Mahale Mountains National Park was originally created to protect the thousands of chimpanzees that inhabit the region. It is renowned for its fantastic sunsets over Lake Tanganyika, which makes it an essential stop for keen photographers and safari enthusiasts.
The park’s breathtaking array of habitats include rainforest, grasslands, alpine bamboo and woodlands; where some 50 species of animals have been recorded, predominant among these being representatives from various monkey and ape families, and over 90 unique species of fish swim in the clear waters of the lake. - On arrival at Airstrip, you will be transferred to your lodge by lodge vehicle on sharing basis.

- Your activities with the camp include chimpanzee trekking, boat safari, fishing, Village visit, forest walk, Sundowners and deep water swimming.
This is one of the last places on earth to see chimpanzees in the wild. The day you look into their eyes will be a day you will never forget. Spending an hour with these incredible animals is a once in a lifetime experience. You can count on chimpanzee trekking in Mahale Mountains National Park to be a fun, adventure-filled experience of a lifetime. Chimpanzees and humans share 98% of their DNA, and it's easy enough to observe this in their mannerisms and watchful, intelligent eyes. This national park is also unique in that lions and chimpanzees co-exist. And while elephants, buffalo, giraffes, and antelope also move through the park, they live primarily on the eastern slope and are much harder to spot. - Overnight at Mahale Mountains National Park
